Skall Studio: Responsible fashion rooted in Danish natural heritage
Welcome to ES, where we are excited to present the Danish fashion and lifestyle brand Skall Studio. Founded in 2014 by sisters Julie and Marie Skall, Skall Studio is more than a brand; it is a promise of responsible fashion, craftsmanship and a connection to the Danish natural heritage.
A Deep Root in the Skall Family's History: The history of the Skall family goes back to the 20th century in North Jutland, where the great-great-grandfather and his brothers collected clam shells on the beach to sell them as chicken feed. This simple lifestyle and the connection to nature became core values for the sisters Julie and Marie, who would later found Skall Studio. The seashells, once a source of income, are now a source of inspiration and symbolize the connection between nature, animals and people in a circular system.
Responsibility in Every Woven Thread: Skall Studio is known for being a value-based brand that strives to make a difference in the fashion industry. Responsibility is not just a buzzword, but a cornerstone in every aspect of production. From avoiding fur and leather in the collections to creating styles in natural materials designed to last season after season, Skall Studio is committed to a sustainable future.
Handicraft, Hand in Hand with Tradition: Handicraft is essential for Skall Studio, and they support local craftsmanship both in Denmark and globally. This not only contributes to preserving unique craft traditions, but also supports cultural-historical roots. From Danish signature knits to collaborations with Indian weavers, each piece is filled with dedication and quality. In addition, Skall Studio encourages local production by sharing its own knitting recipes and promoting sustainability.
Responsible Choices, Sustainable Results: Skall Studio makes responsible choices in all stages of production. From natural materials such as Danish wool, RWS-certified wool and organic cotton to recycled cotton, wool and cashmere. Their clothes are made to last and are designed to be timeless, reducing the need for frequent replacement and reducing the carbon footprint.
