Classic French Fashion: Introduction to Armor Lux
When it comes to classic fashion, one name stands out - Armor Lux. Let's explore together the roots of this timeless brand and discover why it has become a symbol of quality and simplicity.
A Start from Switzerland to Finistère
It all began with Walter Hubacher, a Swiss engineer with a flair for fashion. Despite the challenges during the war, he founded "Bonneterie d'Armor" in 1938. After the end of the war, the company took a new direction and developed to also include ready-to-wear collections. This marked the beginning of Armor-Lux, where the sea and light are symbolized in the name.
The 1980s - A Time of Growth
In the early 1980s, Armor-Lux grew to a team of 600 dedicated people. They expanded their range and dressed the whole family in comfortable clothes made from natural materials such as wool and cotton. They also introduced iconic pieces like the Kabig coat and the Breton striped top.
1990s - New Energy and New Hands
At the beginning of the 90s, two childhood friends, Jean-Guy Le Floch and Michel Guéguen, took the reins and gave the company a new lease of life. They developed the brand and the store network while maintaining the local expertise in Quimper.
